Dear Hawk Grrrl, you article is interesting and very valid, I am glad I stumbled across it. thank you.
All dis-ease and illness stems from an imbalanced emotional/perceptual state that can be seen as a distortion in the energy vortexes known as chakras. This is what I see when I do a chakra balance. This is holistic healing that takes into account the psychological, physical and spiritual aspects of a person to make a diagnosis and re-align the entire being. There are primarily seven of these emotional/perceptual states that can become distorted and cause physical distortions in the seven major endocrine systems and body systems. Illness and disease are simply distortions from the original state of balance. This ability to see, diagnose and re-align the chakras, and the teachings that accompany it were channelled to me through my connection with spiritual guides, over seven years. We are building a website where the information will be available. You article is wonderful and I see that your article reflects your wisdom of the chakra system is growing and it will continue to develop. Your communication ability is great which means your throat chakra (Vishuddha) is well developed. Well done and thank you for sharing. I would also like to share, thank you for making this possible....
This is for Floyd the Wonderdog:
High blood pressure is due to a distortion in the heart chakra and it's related emotional/perceptual state. When it is balanced and aligned, total wellness occurs. In the balanced state the heart chakra is ACCEPTANCE OF ALL THAT IS AND HAS BEEN. Problems with the heart, thymus gland, immune system, circulatory system, chest, shoulders, upper torso, arms and hands are due to a non-alignment with the state of ACCEPTANCE. Acceptance provides immunity to dis-ease. For example when you get immunised for a disease they give you needle which contains a minute portion of the actual disease. By accepting the disease as a part of your being, you become immune to it. Your immune system responds to the injection of the disease into your blood stream and your body builds the antibodies to deal with the disease. It cannot take over your body and kill you, if you come across it later, because you have developed immunity by taking it in. High blood pressure occurs when you are not accepting how others are, what they need to be and that they have a right to exist. Low blood pressure occurs when you are not accepting how you are, what you need and that you have a right to exist. The sound mantra to make, that will vibrate ACCEPTANCE through your being is "YAHM". Repeated in meditation, with the affirmation given here, this sound will transform your emotional/perceptual state and thereby re-align your physical body that relates to the heart chakra: "I accept, I accept all of me, everything is me,everyone is me, I am all, all is me, I am accepted, I give and receive acceptance, I accept the Source, Source accepts me"
This is about the sacral chakra now....
...then Isis, having seen her son Osiris was poisoned, very sick and could not be healed by any healer, decided to trick the God Ra into revealing the magic word of ultimate Divine Healing. The word was secret but when Ra found he had a wound Isis heard him say the word saw that he was healed and ran back to her son. Applying the word to Osiris she healed him and thus he began to gather his spiritual and physical strength and wisdom that would eventuate into his epic reign as one of the greatest Gods of Egypt. The word was "Thank you."
This is the healing word for the sacral chakra. Thank you is appreciation. When the dollar "appreciates" it's value has increased, same goes for everything. The symbolic gesture of thanking all events and people in your life adds value to every aspect of your life. When this occurs all events and people are transformed into divine gifts, divine teachings and divine blessings, no matter how your mind judges them. Problems in the sacral area: reproductive glands, urinary system, reproductive system, the pelvis, hips, lower back, lower digestive system, all stem from lack of appreciation. Where there is lack of appreciation there is the presence of resentment and/or regret. In this reality of duality there is never an empty space so if there is lack of appreciation it is because there is a presence of it's opposite.

If you need a conceptual framework for your own self-hypnosis sessions, then I suppose Kundalini is as good as any other well-established model.

The Scriptures provide a conceptual framework for spiritual introspection which includes stillness and quietness, rest and silence (as can be found in reading the Psalms and Proverbs).

Kundalini-snakes and the sacred-feminine in all of us notwithstanding, Kundalini has a lot of holdover from the modern New Age and ancient occult philosophies which have little or nothing to do with self-hypnosis or introspection -- but instead have to do with self-deception and self-deceit.

Valoel, I was not trying to suggest what it is you think.

Kundalini as Earth-goddess and serpent worship is historical fact; it is simply a matter of researching the mumbo jumbo before becoming a bombast in support of it.

Aligning your chakra's is tantamount to ascending the middle pillar of Kabalah -- its purpose is to awaken your magical body and to create an illuminated person. Kundalini and Kabalah are intimately tied to the practice of paranormal magic (sometimes called angelic magic or demonology in Western occultic traditions). The Hindus of the Orient practice magic and evocations of gods the same as do the Pagans of the Occident.

The occult has been mainstreamed, but it is still the occult. You are free to be willfully ignorant, if you please.

Interesting post.

When I was struggling with depression, I was determined not to use medication. I felt there were ways to overcome. One thing I did was go to a lady that specialized in Reiki. She would check all my Chakra's and get them back to normal. I think it's amazing how our body works and I gradually started feeling better over time by going to this type of therapy.

I'll have to agree with you that having our Chakra's alligned can and does help us be in a state so we can better feel the promptings of the spirit.

#16 I just smile when people tell others the "real" story. We're worshiping a snake mother goddess now huh? I'm glad someone out there knows more about what goes on in my mind than me.

#14 oh hush Hawkgrrrl, you're going to remind me why I should obey our current interpretation of the WoW in spite of my unbelief. :-)

The Word of Wisdom is a material meditation. The Kundalini is a spiritual meditation.

As a meditation of spirit, Kundalini is based upon worshiping (warshipping) the serpent and the Earth-goddess.

We are to meditate upon Christ, not upon pagan idols! Christian meditation does not involve voiding the mind...

Kundalini in an ancient form of serpent and Earth-goddess worship (warship). It is equivalent to trying to ascend the middle pillar of Kabalah.

I fail to see how you've drawn any parallels between the Word of Wisdom and Kundalini. You appear to be comparing apples to oranges (and you seem to think your apple tastes citrusy).

The Word of Wisdom is meaningful. Kundalini and Kabalah are claptrap and nonsense.

Hindus want you think their religion is thousands or even millions of years old, but they are lying to you. They are deceived the same as everyone else.

President David O. McKay called meditation the language of the soul…a form of prayer.

But few Mormons seem to understand the chant. A chant or mantra is simply used to busy the mind with a low workload repetitive task. The idea is to idle the mind as a data processor converting it to a spiritual receiver.

Valoel - there are some really good Chakra meditations out there. I have one on CD that is pretty good to use. It's amazing how just a chant will reconnect you to your body and open up your internal energy. I agree that the WoW is pretty much foundational to this kind of energy work, though. You really have to be free from stimulants and depressants and generally healthy to feel the benefits.

LOVE IT Hawkgrrl. Awesome connections. This is something we could integrate into Mormonism very easily. I use some of these ideas in meditation. The most frequent scripture that comes to mind is the one that goes "The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light."

Interesting, thanks for the link Terry.

The esoteric world sees this as two-way street. God is the source but energy descends from God into matter and ascends from matter back to God. Similar to <em>divine light descending upon/infusing the recipient of divine favor.</em> I think the difference is the receiver is capable of acting as an efficient conduit for the energy instead of just absorbing it.

Cadams: <em>I see no conflict with alternative therapies, the WoW, and modern medicine.</em>
I agree. Plus all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man—

I see no conflict with alternative therapies, the WoW, and modern medicine. We give blessings and also go to the doctor. We can also give blessings and supplement that with a visit to a healer. If we are in the last days, and if the day may come when the distribution network of doctors, hospitals, technologies and prescriptions is limited or shut off, we may have to rely exclusively on priesthood and healers (energy and natural) for our medical assistance.

One high priest in my ward (also a pediatrician) is also a healer. Along with consecrated olive oil, he also carries with him a crystal in his appointments.

Good point, Howard. Wikipedia has a nice piece on the various interpretations of the halo in a variety of religious traditions. The traditional Christian approach prefers to regard it as the divine light descending upon/infusing the recipient of divine favor rather than originating with the individual, but it would be interesting to see where the Christian view originated--if it was borrowed from the Eastern religions, or if the early Christians had a "chakric" concept. (It's tempting to speculate that they received it from the Mongol conqueror Chakra Khan, but I'll forbear.)

The traditional Christian approach prefers to regard it as the divine light descending upon/infusing the recipient of divine favor rather than originating with the individual, but it would be interesting to see where the Christian view originated–if it was borrowed from the Eastern religions, or if the early Christians had a “chakric” concept. (It’s tempting to speculate that they received it from the Mongol conqueror Chakra Khan, but I’ll forbear.)

Howard: "Speaking of energy fields, what is the halo seen in early Christian art if it isn’t the aura of an enlightened crown chakra?" Exactly!

Imperfection: "I’m glad you are discussing healthy life style changes with your doctor. Perhaps we can simplify the WoW to this: Go see a doctor. Discuss with him/her healthy life style practices and how you can implement them." This certainly works better today than it would have in JS's day, but it is a good idea. Too much of western medicine is focused on remedies for illness rather than creating wellness.

Floyd,

I'm glad you are discussing healthy life style changes with your doctor. Perhaps we can simplify the WoW to this: Go see a doctor. Discuss with him/her healthy life style practices and how you can implement them.

The TR question could be: Have you seen a doctor in the past year? How is your health?

When it comes to our health we should be making decisions based on moderation and modern understanding of human physiology, not some (possibly antiquated) health code.

If you'd asked me a couple of years ago, I would have dismissed it as mumbo-jumbo, of the devil, and totally out of harmony with the gospel. Furthermore, I would have said to stick to the scriptures, Follow the Brethren, and do what the Church says to do--no more and no less. Personal circumstances have since forced me to open my Third Eye and Crown chakras and to examine other spiritual paths. I believe that the scriptures and the teachings of the prophets give us the "what" and the "why" but leave the "how" largely up to us.

Incidentally, I have been reading quite a bit about energy fields and how they relate to the Light of Christ as discussed in the Doctrine and Covenants. Two of the best books I have come across are "The Field" by Lynne McTaggart and "The Divine Matrix" by Gregg Braden. This is a (PUN ALERT) field of study which cries out for research from some gifted LDS scientist with an ability to think holistically about science and spirituality. Another area of promise is the realm of "Energy Psychology" (EFT and the like). There are some very exciting therapies coming out into the open.

BTW, I was recently diagnosed as having high blood pressure. The doctor and I discussed life style changes to control it. The first things he brought up were alcohol, tobacco, and caffiene. My twin brother has had high blood pressure for several years (7-10) and he partakes of all of these. Just an added benefit of the WoW.

Now my personal WoW includes reduction of sodium intake.

Interesting. As a teen, I ran across a book about meditation. I would meditate on the sacral, heart and third eye chakras. Those are the ones that tested as open for me. I guess I'll have to see if I can work on the others.

Ray - well, I do have an over-active third eye Chakra.

<em>So, is this a useful way to look at the Word of Wisdom?</em>
Yes, and thank you for insightfully connecting Chakras to the WoW.

As a non-member I began a quest that included health and wellness. Three years of studying nutrition unknowingly brought me into compliance with D&C 89. Yes, to some extent it is a health code.

Soon after, I experienced a spontaneous Kundalini awakening through the 7th Chakra. Did compliance with the WoW cause the Kundalini awakening? Probably not, but I have often wondered if the WoW is a prerequisite.

The opening of the Heart Chakra is much more than being compassionate, kind and friendly, although that is the result. It is a traumatic, profound life changing event that spiritually connects you in the most loving way to everyone else that is capable of connecting at this level. It is to experience charity through knowing our interconnectedness. It is the oneness that at a higher level still connects us to God.

I tend to think of open Chakras as a way of aligning one’s spirit to one’s physical body. I think of Kundalini awakening as preparing one’s body for a spiritual communication, facilitating a broad band connection with the Spirit.
