That's only because there is nothing to argue about, Stephen. Few comments=many agreements.

Everyone, thanks for your comments. I worry about these posts because so few people have anything to say.

Because by holding on to resentment we deny that Christ can heal us and we deny that God’s judgment of others will be sufficient. With that denial we repudiate Christ and we exercise a sort of anti-faith. Resentment, at its core, refuses redemption.

You nailed it. Resentment hurts us, not the other person. That's why it's worse.

I think that's fairly much what i have been hearing from the pulpit for the last forty years.Continues to be an interesting challenge, but as you point out,an essential skill for maintaining a marriage. The guys I really admire on this one though are those who are able to put the wrongs of history behind them and move on.I'm thinking South Africa,Northern Ireland.Where that forgiveness for unspeakable acts has to be lived each day, where people choose to create peace.Respect.

Remember that sin is not wrongdoing, sin is more essentially that which separates us from God. Resentment fills our hearts with bitterness. Bitterness cannot exist where God is. That is why it is the greater sin, because it separates us more fully from God.
