David Carradine died today in a hotel in Thailand.

Go with God, Grasshopper.

If your favorite actor is not listed here, who would you choose and why?

What was your favorite martial arts movie?  Individual character role?

I guess this means no Kill Bill 3, or no re-rehash of Kung Fu?

That’s a great poll. Pat Morita nearly wins just because he’s the only Japanese man there, and he catches the flies with chopsticks. I voted for Jackie Chan though. His daddy once caught a bullet with his bare hands.

Also, where is Chuck Norris? Please though, EVERYONE, try to refrain from too many Chuck Norris Facts! :)

I voted for Bruce Lee, He only had a few good movies, but they were pretty awesome. On top of that, his legend far outdoes his monster Kung Fu acing skillz.

What, no Van Damme or Segal?

    I meant acting skillz.

Bruce Lee is unmatched by anyone on that list. The problem is, his movies were atrocious. Kareem Abdul Jabar in Game of Death? Are you kidding me? Did anyone see the Spongebob Squarepants take off on Game of Death? Hilarious.

I like Van Damme, and Steven Segal.

  • Rigel Hawthorne

I remember hearing a talk at the pulpit when I was a kid quoting lines from the Kung Fu series. The man was totally serious and obviously had great respect for the eastern wisdom encapsuled in the show.

Yeah, for modern balance (and to recognize a few Westerners), Norris, Van Damme and Segal probably should be on the list.

My vote is for Carradine. The conversations between Young Caine and Master Po were . . . masterful when I first heard them.

I should note that Bob Barrow who was one of Chuck Norris’ close team mates and in the movies with him until they started getting R ratings is LDS. Probably the only one of the group with any acting training for a long time ;)

It has to be a pole about favorite actor, and not best actor. It would be a real tough competition to see who was the best actor. lol.

Looking at the list though, Pat Morita would probably win my vote. On the other hand, I think that he may be the only one who isn’t actually a martial artist. Of course, Caradine didn’t know Martial Arts until after he did ‘Kung Fu’.

Chuck Norris is a GREAT actor! Plus, he can jump-start a stalled Apache helicopter with his teeth!!!

By great you mean bad right?

#12 – Instant classic, Ian! That will give me a chuckle for a couple of days – but I won’t tell Chuck you said so. ;)
