The power to think outside the box is so valuable many people give up too soon, I just didn't arrive at the solution.

We just had a brand new building built for our ward. The day we moved in, we realized we needed a bigger building. The primary room was too small for our primary, the RS and Primary and YW all had to fight for how to make the building work. We joked that the church tries to do this...they could afford to make a bigger building for us, but that would be too easy...they needed to give us a scenario to "be creative" and work together through it.

That's what this life is about...limited resources, time, and knowledge...and now we must prove our character by being creatives despite our mortal situations.

My dad used to say..."That builds character".

Power tends to corrupt. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Until Mormonism puts more emphasis on its congregationalist roots, it will be hard to institutionalize win-win approaches.

The temptation to take it all is just too great when you are told that you have the keys and authority.
